Hello everyone
Over the last few weeks I have been asked to make quite a few congratulations cards for dog obedience class winners. We used to be on the circuit ourselves doing obedience and agility competitively all around the country. That was a fantastic hobby, really miss it since my mobility has been challenged!
Anyway, for one of the styles of card I have used the Made to Surprise showstopper tri fold die set, cutting it twice and joining together in the middle to make a double tri fold card. Using smooth or very chunky glitter card, Mirri card and card that looks like a load of scattered sequins I have made these cards. I haven’t had time time to do any tutorials for them but may do when I get more time. If you have a question in the meantime, just leave me a comment at the bottom of the page.

I also made another showstopper card hand cutting the card base, mats and layers to show you that you do not need to have dies to cut the card base, mats and layers. It was really easy once I had worked out the measurements. I will pop a template pic below and explain the pieces you need to cut to make this card.

Cut the template below using 2 x A4 sheets of card or 2 x 12” x 12” or 2 x sheets of Lidl card stock. Your card need to be a good weight as this is the card base, I used Craft Perfect A4 sheets of 216gsm weight, weave textured card stock for my pink base.

For the fancy mats you will need:
6 of 6 3/4” x 1 3/4” panels for sides
8 of 1 3/4” x3/4” panels for sides
2 of 4 3/4” x 3 3/4” panels for sides
1 of 6 3/4” x 3 3/4” panel for centre
I only used one layer of mats but if you wish to add another layer just cut the 17 pieces again reducing all sizes by 1/4” in width and height.
For the sentiment and wording panel on the back you will need:
1 of 6 3/4” x 3 3/4” panel in white card.
Other than the centre panel on the back for the sentiment I left the rest of the back plain pink but if you wish to mat it you would just need to cut another set of the 17 pieces above.
Then decorate as you wish for your special occasion. I used:
The Champagne bottle and labels dies and champagne glass stamp from Simply Cards & Papercraft issue 212. I stamped and heat embossed the glasses silver and fussy cut them to the stamped line.
The CONGRATULATIONS and YOU DID IT stamps were from Sam Calcotts Made To Surprise Sentiments A5 stamp set which co-ordinates with the Terrific Towers die set. I stamped and heat embossed both of these stamps so they stood up from the panel.
The alpha dies were from Lou Collins Text{ures} Steam Punk Type Alphabet Outline Die Set. These were cut from the same pink base Craft Perfect base card mentioned above.
The Unicorn stamp and Die set was from Mama Elephant by Hampton Arts.
Let me know which one of the above cards is your favourite colour and design in the comments below. Please give me a like to help my blog post get out to others who love crafting too.
